This game is well worth picking up for fans of tower defense. It's been my game of choice for the last few months and has lead to me not even touching the new Defense Grid expansion :O

It's based on an old Warcraft 3 mod and is mainly a multiplayer game with a ranking system. There is a slight learning curve but once you get in to it it's difficult to put down.

Ignore the rubbish Metacritic score and give it a go. Tis only 3 sheets on Steam today.

Reviews arent exactly favourable but it seems decent.

Reminds me of field runners which is awesome.

Not sure whether to go for this myself...

The main reason for the tons of justified bad reviews was simply down to the false advertising. They stated there was single player and multiplayer content however the SP part was basically a scripted tutorial thus conning people who bought it for that mode. They later re-worded the games description but by then it was too late and damage was done. Shame though as the game had potential..

The game is back on offer and taking up most of my gaming time. Are any other Overclockers playing it? Steam Workshop has just been added so we should see new content soon.

I was VERY disappointed with it. There are better free flash games available on the web.

The upgrade system is crap

Tower upgrades are just straight upgrades with no branching off what so ever.
Same applies for the units although an upgrade path can be woven to get specific unit. Still poor though.

Expected quite a bit more for a paid tower defense game.

No not a great deal. I played maybe 4-5 matches and won every one. But as i stated it just felt very straight forward with not enough options with tower upgrades.

The bots are a great way to learn the game, if your beating the level 10 bots then you should do well in the league.

TW is a great game which can be picked up for next to nothing quite often. I've thrown over 500 hours at the multiplayer.

played this last night, i was pleasantly surprised, quite good! (only done single player atm) just so I can get used to the game...

Any tips for online play?

Your best bet would be to read some of the guides on the Steam discussion page. If anybody needs tips for playing online then add me on Steam - id = badh4nd

If you play with any of the top 25 players then it will be a bit one sided until you get your head around it all, don't let it put you off.
