So i'm yet to find a definitive answer in my research and was wondering if anyone who owns a Focus ST170 can tell me.

Are you able to tow with a 3dr 2004 Hatchback ST170? was it homologated for towing by Ford. I'm looking to tow a motorcycle trailer so the weight will be under 300kgs I would have thought. It will be an unbraked trailer.

Parkers.co.uk list a braked max towing weight (here) but no unbraked weight, and I can find several tow bars for sale, so i'm guessing it's possible. Just want to be sure before taking the plunge and buying one.

Does anyone have a V5 they can look at for me?

We used to have a late 90s Astra van (lighter than the Focus) that we used for towing a pair of early 90s Kawa KX250s (the gear and supplies went in the back of the van) and we never had any problems with the law, or with the thing pulling the weight (1.7 diesel Isuzu engine) other than it was slower than hell.

Thanks, was more checking for insurance reasons as you're not insured if you tow with a car that has not been homologated for towing. Like the Clio 172 / 182 for example when they are more than capable of towing.
