Been looking on Auto Trader for a little reliable runabout on a 20 plate the Aygo seems to fit that bill, but by the looks of it they seem overpriced at around 10k+ for a decent one with low mileage on a 20 plate.
Are these Aygo's worth the money the dealers are currently asking for them?

I found the Aygo not great to drive. It feels like they have a lot of slop in the controls, which is annoying for a city car where you want some responsiveness. They seem reliable though. The Yaris is a far better car, even older ones.

I don't think the Aygo is actually made by Toyota which is probably why. It's the same car as the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107.

I preferred the Twingo TBH.

I'll go have a gander at the Aygo, also have a look at the Kia Picanto GT.
The Aygo is a decent car, I only went for the Smart Fortwo as I don’t need to carry four or five passengers. Could always get the Smart ForFour instead but then you might as well get a Twingo or any other bog standard city car. I also prefer automatics so went for the DCT version.

Never been a fan of the smart cars they are bit to quirky for me, I'm downsizing from a 15 plate Focus because since the Wife got her C1, there is not enough room on the drive to fit 2 cars.

An Aygo or Picanto or any other small city car would fit easily.

I had 3 Aygo's (the dealer kept offering me a new one every 12 months for the same money) as I wanted a nice cheap car just to get too and from work - they were all the x-trend spec which for a small cheap car gives you quite a few bits and pieces.

For what they are they are bloody brilliant, absolutely bomb proof engines, build quality was OK - obviously cheapish materials but no rattles etc. Not the quickest car by any stretch of the imagination however they will do 60MPG ish without even trying to be light on the pedal.

What do you think of this one kinda like the orange gives it a sporty look, also the Toyota Dealer is less than a mile away from me.

I have driven several as a courtesy car, my only comparison at the time was my Yaris which seems like a Rolls Royce in comparison. I would go up a range and look at a Yaris.

Yep, same feeling had when having both as courtesy cars when I had a Toyota. The Yaris was better in every way including the previous generation.

How do you feel about the Twingo? My Smart Fortwo MK3 is based on the Twingo MK3 but with only two seats. I like it more than my 107 as it’s a DCT automatic plus being a 2019 has mod cons like Android Auto and DAB+.

I liked the previous generation Twingo but it was a completely different car. It was based on the older Clio chassis I think. It was fun and handled well for an eco car.

I also tested a Twingo RS and that was great. Quite rare though.

The Peugeot 107/108 , Citroen C1 and Aygo has been a Joint partnership since 2005. They are all built on the Toyota Platform

The engine is Toyota, not sure about the rest of it. It has a lot of Peugeot and Citroen parts and fittings afaik. It doesn't seem on the same level for build quality as other Toyotas and it certainly doesn't drive like one.

Actual Toyota parts can be pricey as they are imported from Japan, that would push the price up. These are cheap cars after all.
