Hi, what are your opinions on this car? It's very cheap, has excellent fuel economy and low insurance, and I don't think it looks to bad.

It's had some pretty good reviews too.

The c1 and peugeot 107's the same car, are these "better" in any way?

"nice" small car. has a reasonable funky factor (a woman at work has one on a 55 plate)... reliable too. for some reason the C1 or 107 may have more appeal - more gadgets etc like electric sliding doors (?) :p

thats the 1007 your thinking of with the sliding doors.
they did a piece on top gear about this and they verdict was to go for the C1 as they are all the same cars but the citroen was cheaper.

edit - damn beaten to it lol

I think they are the best out of the C1/107 and whatever else. Fox pointed out a while ago that they are good value for money compared to others.

How accurate are the fuel economy figures? can you get anything close to the quote 60+mpg figures in real life?

TopGear had one in it's long term fleet that was thought very highly and got around 50mpg in the real world. As long as you don't shove loads of expensive bits on the options list I think it's a great little car.

as people have said...they are all essentially the same (they may even be built in the same place) but the C1 is generally 500 quid cheaper than the other 2

Isn't the 1007 bad to drive as it is very heavy due to the van style doors?

As for the Aygo, I don't know really, on one had I think it's a ladies car on the other it is cheap to run and looks alright.

It's expensive though - with £7500-7999 you're already in Grande Punto or Suzuki Swift price range - very low insurance group as well, bigger but almost as economical.

Girlfriend has just bought the Peugeot 107. She wasn't keen on the aygo's look, because it didn't look as "cute" as the 107 and the C1 :p

Anyway, all three were built in the toyota factory in czech republic. All have the same 1000cc 3 cylinder toyota engine, same suspension setup EVERYTHING the same. So reliability should be spot on.

The engine is very throaty  suprisingly, sounds quite load and racy which suprised me, maybe its something to do with the 3 cylinder engine??

The interiors on the 3 cars are all the same, there is one main pod which contains speedo, mileage, petrol, temp etc. A rev counter is an optional extra but not worth it IMO. Plus it looks a little messy sticking out from the main speedo.

Inside the car is VERY roomy. There is only 2 seats in the back, but a 6ft adult could easily cope in the back without knees touching the front seats. The downside to the roomy feel, is the boot. It is really small, easily enough for shopping however. But then im guessing your not buying a small car for its boot :p

The one we picked up was a Pre Registered 55 plate yellow 107 w/ 200 miles on the clock. Obviuosly, the cars first owner was the peugeot garage but we picked it up for £6145 with free, luxury spec mats :)

All in all quite a good deal i think, saved £1000 over a brand new one.

Reason we went for the peugeot over the citroen was because of the fact that we got a good deal on this pre-reg, and it was the spec we wanted with electric windows, but also we thought that it MAY be worth a little more than a citroen in 3 years time.

tom , sorry for the long post :)
