Anyone own one or has driven one, I like the idea of manual & auto at the same time.

I have never owned or driven one, but I was reading the owner reviews on whatcar's website and let's just say that they were not impressed!!!! Not one person had anything positive to say about the MMT. You should have a read before you buy one.

I like the idea of manual and auto at the same time as well, unfortunately not in a crappy little town car.

woman at work has the same system on the auris and reacons its completly rank compared to a standard auto

Yep, my mum's just got a Yaris 1.4D with the MMT transmission, works perfectly well, no real complaints provided you approach the car as what it is (an automatic towncar) rather than something else.

I drove it a few times while visiting.

It's definitely more of an automatic than a manual though, and not as good as the DSG audis or VWs.
