Hi folks
After trying a Billion 7800N and not finding it a happy experience. It did not hold the rx SNRM too well in the evening and picked up loads of interference from my Plasma TV. Not looking for a big discussion on this, as I I've already gone over all this on another thread. Quite aware it's fine for others.
So... looked for another Router to replace my trusty Speedtouch 585v6. Currently running a TP-LINK td-w8960n. Now I know this is a budget priced router, but it does get by far the best +ve comments on certain big retailers WEB sites.
It looks OK at the moment. But I have a couple of queries and was wondering if especially anyone who has one of these might be able to comment on.
1) The rx attn was being reported by the speedtouch as 37dB (remember this is ADSL2+ so will be some 3/4 dB higher than on max). But the TP-LINK is reporting 39.5dB. I'm just wondering if this is likely to be just the way the two different Routers report this?
2) Some of the line/error stats that are shown on the
Device info/Statistics/xDSL page in the GUI look a little odd to me!
EG. HEC errors showing: 4294967285
Now I don't think this is a real figure! As it just popped up suddenly. Again just a reporting issue maybe. As suspiciously if you GOGGLE this number, it pops up in a couple of threads.
Any comments anyone?
Currently in the process of migrating to Xilo/Uno broadband to get away from BT equipment and their DLM which has caused me countless issues since moving to ADSL2+.
PS. Firmware Version: 1.4.0 Build 110921 Rel.17774n
