Hi guys, bit confused how the Ethernet works on the thing. Am I able to connect the ethernet from the extender to my router and broadcast a full speed signal that way?

At the moment I'm repeating the wifi signal and its still not that strong connecting to my router.

Tried plugging ethernet cable into the extender to my router but unsure if it will actually let me do it that way.

Which extender do I need to be able to link it via ethernet and broadcast the ethernet signal?

Cheers!

That Ethernet port is there to add wireless capabilities to a device that only supports a wired connection. To quote their manual...

ETHERNET: One 10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port used to add wireless connectivity to an Ethernet-enabled device such as Internet TV, DVR, Gaming console and so on. Please note that this port is not allowed to be connected with router or AP.

You want an wireless access point or a wireless router configured as one.

Thanks for the answer mate, can you recommend me a small budget wireless access point to buy? like the ones to plug into a power plug.

So it will let me connect via ethernet and broadcast that signal without having 2 wifi signals?

Cheers.

If you add an access point you'll have a second Wi-Fi signal. You can blur things a bit by using matching SSIDs and security settings, but they'll still be separate.

Have you just tried moving the repeater nearer to the router? If needs to be located where there's still a decent signal available so it has something to repeat.

it does have something to repeat but only 2 bars, I was hopping to get at least 3 bars.
Can't really do access point if it broadcasts another signal, my family has no idea when and where to change connections on their devices.

I was hoping for more signal because they stream a lot and there is some stuttering at times.

Cheers for the help.
