A friend has this router and constantly has a moderate Nat plus disconnects on the xbox one any ideas it running the latest firmware?

I have just junked this router in because I was getting frequent disconnects over wifi (not ethernet).

Is it being connected wirelessly?

Ye the router been running fine for a year and with other games then the new Black Op 3 comes along and nat problems he runs two Xbox one at same time as his lad plays on other.

You need to port forward tcp and udp port 3074 to the Xbox. Alternatively turn on upnp.

No fault of the router, it's actually doing its job correctly.

Your query was that he had closed or moderate NAT though.
If he did that and still gets moderate NAT then he hasn't done it properly. The easy way to tell is to port scan his WAN IP for the specific protocol.

Disconnects could be X amount of things.
Poor WAN link
Poor Wifi
Bad server

It probably won't be the router not able to handle routing.
