I have just bought a TP-Link TL-WPA4220 powerline WiFi extender kit and it seems to be doing the job nicely. What I would like to do now, is have the extender clone the main WiFi so that all my Google home devices are seen no matter which device they are connected to - basically have a single network.

I'm using Google WiFi as the main device (via BT Hub), with the Ethernet OUT on the Google unit connected to the TP-Link master unit. I don't have a WPS button on the Google unit, so do I just access the TP-Link web based configuration for the slave WiFi unit and rename the SSID & Password to match the Google WiFi settings?

Is it that simple?

Actually, I think it might be unnecessary. I'm connected to the powerline WiFi and able to play music on the home hub which is connected to the Google unit, so it sees it as the same network even though it's different SSIDs to connect to different sources.

If I named the powerline SSID & password identical to the Google WiFi, would this trick the home hub into connecting to the powerline if the Google unit was weak or unavailable?

I intend to use the home hub in the garden and the signal is weak out there, hence why I want to have it connect to the powerline unit which will be much closer to the garden.

Hope that all makes sense. :p
