Just got one of the TP Link WN822N USB high gain wireless adapters to connect to my wireless N network at home and have a weird issue. When I boot my PC up it doesn't connect to the network very quickly and when it does, it hangs on limited connectivity for around a minute (meaning steam etc complains about no connection every time I boot) until it finally realises theres an internet connection present.

Has anyone experienced the same issue? I'm booting from a crucial M4 64gb SSD so the PC is on extremely quickly but that gets negated by the fact I can't use the internet for about 1 minute lol.

It does take a bit of time for my one to connect as well but its a slow pc. Tried giving it a static ip see if its any quicker maybe hanging on acquiring address?

No problem glad it helped. Did you also add that ip as reserved for that machine in your router? might give it an extra second or 2 :D

What router you using? you checked your wireless channel is the one with the least amount of others using it. Also does your router support changing short gi and channel width

Might help to eliminate any wireless signal issues first.

Its a belkin "play" model but im not sure of the exact model number. However its a dual band N router with 20/40hz channel selection plus the usual choose a wireless channel plus a backup channel also. Not sure its a wireless issue though as another computer and my MBP connect to it instantly with no issues at all, yet my wireless adapter has the issue.

Just noticed that the wireless adapater doesn't actually attempt to connect to the network properly for around 50 seconds or so. When I click on details it just brings up a blank box until the card connects to the wireless network, then it fills with the DHCP info + everything else instantly.
