I have my ADSL connection in another room with a TP-Link TD-W8960N which has been spot on.

I have a Smart TV, Sky Box, Smart Blu-ray player and WII - I'd like the 4 of them connected online, CAT5 cabled through one box that would sit behind the TV that connects to my wifi.
If the box can do wifi repeating to be a range extender that would be a bonus but not essential.

I was set to buy the WR841N but I'm seeing comments on Amazon Q&A that the WAN port needs a cable connection to feed the broadband I'm unsure if I'm buying the right thing. The WR843ND has PoE etc which I don't need.

Which one will suit my needs?

According to the specs the WR843ND should do what you want.

You might want to consider using Powerline adapters instead. You can get four port versions if you want to avoid clutter.
