tracert query

Hi BT Inifinty 1 user here, I've got an open reach modem and connected to that is my Asus RT-N66u router.


I've just been fiddling around with tracert and notice when ever I run a tracert query Hops 2 & 3 are always timed out.

What does this mean? Do I have a problem with my line or hardware?

It just means those hops aren't responding to ping responses. There's no issue there.
