Evening all, not really something I want to be querying on a Saturday night but here goes...

My other half received her first ever prank call this evening with a girl putting on a fake accent, a few nonsense words were said, things like 'would you like me to process your divorce', the call was finished off with 'I'll see you soon, kiss kiss'.

Now for a bit of background and what immediately jumped into my head:
About 3 years ago, I worked in management for a company where a girl took a bit of a shine to me...almost harassing; this went on for a while. Eventually, my other half got an anonymous letter to her place of work saying I was having an affair and to contact her to find out what the script was, my other half called it in a rage whilst I was there, no one picked up(it was her correct number). The police were contacted and my employer took action. Eventually the girl was sacked for lying about numerous other things and generally causing a storm in the office.

Haven't heard anything about it since.

Tonight, I was in the supermarket and walked past a girl I worked with at said company. It looks like she seen me but looked past me as if she wasn't sure or the usual awkwardness happened, what do you say to someone you use to work with etc. Anyway, I'm 70-80% sure she seen me.

Within 10 minutes of seeing this girl, the voicemail came through. So, literally the time it took me to see her and walk out the supermarket.

I know they worked together and spoke so immediately my thoughts took me to 'she must've text her the minute she saw me to say 'omg, guess who I just saw' or something.

Anyway, my other half is now a bit shook up, especially if this girl has kept her number after all these years. She's contacted her service provider who don't track incoming calls so we've been told to contact the police if we're concerned. The girl has a very bad reputation for being a bit off the rails.

Any advice? Do I report this to the police again? Can they track the call?

I don't want my other half having to resort to changing her number etc.

This might be totally blown out of proportion, who knows... :)

Could do but that's not really getting to the root of the issue which could be potential harassment. What if said girl showed up at my other halves place of work for example or made threats?

True. It'd be worth mentioning it to the police.

Police can track the call. I'd get it reported now so they can the ball rolling with tracking incoming calls etc.

Mobile provider should be able to do more to help than theyre letting on so I'd apply pressure/hint at cancelling with them.

The entire market for the feature to withhold caller id must be scammers and other criminals. Goodness knows how it hasn't been banned yet.

Scammers are getting wise to that now because so many people just ignore or block withheld numbers and are moving to using real-looking but fake numbers instead.
