Myself my brother and our mate have successfully organised a couple of owners club (Mx5nutz) exclusive track days at our local track (Teesside Autodrome) We've had great feedback and found a formula that works well with that particular track. We can happily run a full day OPL with 25-30 cars for only £70 a car.
Now following on from this we're looking into contacting bigger and better tracks and seeing what we can organise there. Unfortunately none of us have any experience of other UK tracks other than driving Croft. Obviously costs are going to be a lot higher to hire a bigger track, but then they can cater for more cars.
What I'm after is any information regarding what works well on what tracks that our regular track day drivers go to. Things like does OPL or sessions work best on a particular track. How many cars can you have comfortably on track at once. Is the track better suited to high power cars, or lower powered better handling cars. Have you been on a day that was over subscribed, if so how many cars would be that max you'd recommend for that track. Any other info that you think would help would be great.
We're busy getting prices but without knowing what works well on what track it's going to be hard to know if it's viable to set something up. The last thing we want to do is work out that for a particular track we'd need 60 cars to make it cost effective, and then get there and find its too busy and it's a crap day.
Any info will be greatly appreciated, particularly on Cadwell and Oulton Park.
Thanks
