I've just done a spybot check to find I have a tone of tracking cookies. They're annoying. I'm running Spyware Doctor (auto-update), firefox and Spybot yet I still get loads? What gives? Any got any ideaso n how to cut them down?

Completely in the background, no resources used, and one of the first things I install on every PC I build. :)

Cheers, it seems good. I take it Spywareblaster mainly protects against tracking cookies? It's just added loads of websites to my block websites list!

I use a customised HOSTS file which redirects all the advertising websites which add the tracking cookies to localhost so it can't find them :D Plus I get no adverts :D :D

How do you do that? Thanks for your help BTW, very useful.

It still hasn't solved my problem. Done another scan today to find this

what is going on here? I might set Firefox to delete all cookies when I close the browser, this is ridiculous!

Download and install CCleaner (google it). Run the program and it will remove all cookies and crap etc. Then download this and do what it says in the readme (I'm sure it was in one of the stickies on here once but i can't find it :o) file :)

cheers. What does it do exactly? All I had to do is double click on the .BAT file.

It replaces the HOSTS file with all the addresses of known spam and ad sites. Meaning you wont have to worry about iffy sites and silly adverts anymore.

But of course, you could have read the README....
