TrackIR - any good?

I use it in flight sims (and Armed Assault) and love it. For some games, it gives you a tiny boost, whilst in others you gain a large advantage (flight sims). I've used it in GTR2 a few times, it is handy for cornering.

Without it, when you turn you tend to turn into a blind spot. With TrackIR, you naturally turn to face the corner as the car turns. When you get used to it, it does make things easier/better.

Edit: I can spell, me.

Awesome piece of kit, well worth the money for flight sims, not so sure for racing games though.

Try edimensional.com, I bought mine there - they have a UK distribution facility, so customs duty shouldn't be a problem. I mostly use mine with Simbin's RACE (works really well) and FSX. This may not be an issue for you, but I find if the suns shines directly on the 'receivers' it doesn't work so great. Other than that it's a great product.

TrackIR is fantastic. Although I only use it for flight sims, well, except Aces High, but the standard view system is great in that already.

How does this work? If you turn your head to, say the right, you won't be looking at your monitor anymore..

Sorry if that's a retarded question, but I'm a bear of very little brain today.

It scales the movement so you only need a small movement in any direction which leaves you looking at the screen, it's all fully adjustable in the software.

absolutely crucial for flight sims. Edimensional have stopped stocking it and the other retailers are charging £115-120, which is rubbish. You can get them for about the same price off a well known auction site, sometimes a bit cheaper.
