One question to those who have one, do you enjoy gaming as much without it now you are used the benefits they offer.

I play ARMA II and a few racing games (Mainly Simbin titles) and plan to do some flight simming shortly.

I also have DCS: Black Shark but owing to waiting for a Joystick, have given up trying it with a keyboard/mouse.

I am thinking it would be worth it for Black Shark alone?

Many Thanks.

Can I? Of course.
But I often find myself moving my head a few second after a long session in ARMA and say moving to BC2.

But if the game supports it, I always use it.

Sorry, have edited the post.

What I was trying to get to was, since purchasing one, do you find it a valuable peripheral.

Well I bought it for arma alone, then I used it for arma II and IL2/ blackshark and now DCS A10 and others. So yeah my original purchase for one game alone was worth it but, you should never think that way.

Future titles will always be out there.

If you're playing games that use it yes, my new one has hardly been used since I got it at xmas as my pc isn't up to playing RoF, WoP and BlackShark bore me and I just can't get into IL2 at the moment :(

For racing sims not so much, but for ARMA and Flight sims with 6DoF cockpits it becomes indispensable. In fact, once you get used to it, you won't be able to fly or fight without it.

But first, Google freetrack and see if that meets your needs. EDIT:- I see freetrack was already mentioned.

For me with out TrackIR black shark , A10 , Lock On e.t.c is only half a flight sim once tried you will never go back also when you have one for real it is much better than any video demonstration can show you.

Freetrack is only really as good as the person making it.But will cost you half the price. If you are getting serious about flight sims and can afford it it will increase you enjoyment and like nate says once youve got used to it you will feel lost without it.
Trackir 5 is a really slick product and software and my eyes well worth the money i spent on it,but i do play a lot of arma 2 and flight sims.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread.

I'm confused with all this TrackIR clip talk.

If I get the TrackIR5 pro, do I need to buy an additional clip?

Never mind just got a TrackIR5 Pro with clip thing, can't wait to try it out :D

dont expect miracles, you are going to be all over the place for a few days. If you persevere it becomes an essential peripheral. I wouldnt flight sim without it these days.

I'll try not to expect too much! I'm finding myself stuck in FS when someone goes behind me and the hat stick is so hard and in actuate, it's all or nothing ><

I've got one as well - I can't play sims without it now - when I start turning my head to look at instruments or out the side and nothing happens it feels all wrong. Best peripheral I have bought hands down.
