I know there was another thread posted back about it coming out but seems only a few people had the game.

Produced by the young, talented French studio Nadeo, TrackMania United is the latest version of the most entertaining car racing game available. Released in 2003, the TrackMania series has rapidly become one of the most popular video games for PC thanks to its fast and fun gameplay

Like its predecessors, TrackMania United offers a variety of amazing content creation tools that increase the game's replay value. The well-known track editor allows anyone to make their own tracks from a selection of more than 1,000 construction blocks, and then share these tracks in single- or multiplayer modes. In addition to the track editor, a video editing studio lets players create race and stunt videos that can be shared in a variety of video file formats, which allows for open distribution. Last but not least, the paint workshop lets players customise each vehicle's appearance with decals, paints and other visual enhancements.

I used to play Trackmania Nations all the time, Just wondered what people thought of the game? How does it compare to TMN?

I heard loads of mixed reactions on the official forum.

Great game, building on previous versions. Few new tyres of track/car etc and thousands of custom tracks online to play.

Working my way up the ranking, just inside the top 2000 in world at the moment :p

Thanks :)

Is it very popular online, considering it is not being released in the shops till Feb/March time?

Does it have the same feel to TMN? Handling wise?

There's no new car / track types. It's just Trackmania, TM:Sunrise and TM:Nations rolled into one. With a load of extra track blocks added on.

I have to say it's quite fun so far, although the menu system does my head in, it's not very intuitive to control with the controller, unlike previous versions.

There is no way I am buying this game if it has Starforce. Starforce ruined my last DVD writer. Never again will I buy a Starforce protected game.

Ever.

This is a great shame as I would love this game. No way I am going to chance another DVD drive to this rotten copy protection.

/rant over.
