What is the difference between the versions of trackmania?

Trackmania Original

Trackmania Sunrise

Trackmania Nations

Is the original and nations free?
Are the graphics different?
Are they all skinnable?
Which version is the best

The trackmania orignal download has just finished, and i got original trackmania not found. So i guess that answers a question. But do i need the original to play sunrise?

No! you dont need the original for Sunrise as it standalone.
The gfx are all diffrent all 3 version allow full skinnable cars.
IMO TMS is the best wich has a free upgrade to TMSX & after getting a copy i dont really play TMN that much as the handling & speed are much slower.

There are a huge amount of tracks & cars to download, there are new tracks uploaded every day by the community.

Wich ever version you get...(it better be TMS

), down load EasyTM as it will put the tracks & cars you get from the community sites in the right places for you.

TMN is a completely free version. Give it a go. It's one kind of car and lots of tracks in one particular style/location. The point of it is an online battle of the nations with an international leaderboard. It's great!

True i but you can still use other TMN compatible cars with it.

I have downloaded the sunrise demo and i cant seem to enter a name at the start?

just started playing it TMS again in the hardest mode. damn its hard. great game

i think nations is just a free addon for normal trackmania. sunrise is trackmania 2

Yep it rocks.

TMN is not an addon it a standalone free game.

Anyway hope to catch you on multi TMS & see what your made of

I dont have any AV software installed. The only firewall i run too is Windows Firewall. There are 3 dots where i can enter my name, but if i press and keys nothing appears. but if i press enter it will take me down to ok. But i cant proceed as a name hasnt been entered

Trackmania Nations is a standalone free version, but you will not be able to use custom avatars/cars/horns unless you have validated your account with a cd key from either TMO or TMS.
Alternatively you could wait a few months until the new one comes out, looks good

TM hates usb keyboards.

Maybe Psypher5 suggestion may work, but i have seen the problem with the Saitek & TM games before & there are solutions, i`ll look into it.

isnt this the very same game that cropped up earlier talking about cdcopyright built into it...that blows up cd drives?

i will give the nations version a go later...see what happens

yes it is. I haven't had a problem with starforce, although it is annoying that it completely locks up your computer while it checks. And some people have had major incompatibility issues to that effect.

if it blows up my drive just gives me an excuse to get a conroe system.
