Hi all,

For the macbook owners out there, do you have any problems with the single trackpad and your palm resting on it?

I went into an Apple store today to check out the MacBook Pro laptops after seeing new ones released yesterday.

I had a little play on it and noticed that I rest my palm on the trackpad itself and was causing an issue when browsing the internet (accidentally moving the cursor).

Is there any software out there that will allow you to split up the trackpad into two (top and bottom), use the bottom for clicks and top for mouse cursor?

Many thanks,

Edward

Why would you rest your palm on it???

Its quite hard to explain that the whole pad is for use so I have my palms to the side or raised up (or on the desk) and you run your fingers over the whole thing....

I don't know of anything, it's a pain really, coming from an older macbook pro it's been annoying to adjust as I can't just rest my thumb on the button and use that to click like I did before...

No software for that, although you can turn on an option for "accidental clicks" to reduce the sensitivity of the trackpad.

I have big hands and never get problems when resting my palms on the trackpad whilst typing.
