Has this been on anyones radar?

We realise the size of the mountain ahead of us and so we are dividing the project into a series of Chapters so you can dive into the action as soon as possible.

The first chapter "OVERLORD" will feature the events immediately following the D-Day Landings of June 1944 and depict the infantry of the British Army and German Heer.

Subsequent chapters of Traction Wars will bring new features, gameplay, levels, nations and theatres of operation.

The WW2 genre has been done to death over the last few decades but very few titles if any have "done it right" in my opinion.

All the noise about this ticks all the boxes in my opinion. The history of this war and the people involved deserves respect with their stories being told accurately and this game seems to have an element of love in that respect.

Interesting. Seems like a better looking version of WW2OL, with a more concentrated theatre. In development a very long time though, no idea of release date yet?

The are making progress from what I can gather and development has been slow but I think is a small dev team but they do seem to be focusing on quality.

Would rather have WW2 genre than the "future ****" that seems to keep coming. :(

I wish they redid COD+UO in the new engines, Loved the Pegasus Bridge mission in COD (kinda how I got my name!) so this doesn't look half bad (for the little information we have anyway).

You had me at WW2 FPS. I like Heroes & Generals but the grind is long.

This could be promising, I'm yearning for a WW2 shooter, this modern day stuff has become way over saturated.

Just like all the comments above really, looking forward to this for sure. Been after a decent WW2 shooter for some time and while the old ones can only tie you over for a short periods, new releases are very welcome :)

I'm semi interested as well but wonder how their Free to Play and No Micro-transactions model works?

As it says on the tin.

At present time, they are developing this independently with no outside funding. We all know what a mess Kickstarter can cause.

Downside is, development time can be extended.

There are no plans for a paywall at this point.

Sure, they will have to gather revenue to pay the bills somewhow but how is not known at this point.

It's just a cynic in me thinking how they are going to support this endeavour unless it's a volunteer affair of some kind but seems too big a project for something like that. I mean if it's any good I don't have a problem with paying for it and I am interested in the game now but you know sounds a little too good to be true. I have no qualms about them being honest from the start how they will eventually pay their staff and put the lights on in the offices but makes it sound like they are not planning on charging for the game or any extras in the game, hence my question wondering how this whole things works.

Will I have to pay for the game?

ANSWER:
No. There are no plans to charge for the game or to have any form of in-game store.

I remember that map from BF 1942

All I remember of BF 1942 was joining the desert maps & immediately saying "enemy submarine spotted!" which used to cause others do the same up to the point where someone would absolutely lose it, then let it go quiet for 1 minute or so & start it up again.:D
