Hi guys,

Got an unboxed ps3 and around 15 games to get rid of. Don't fancy the hassle of eBay and I'm popping to town today. Which is best? CEX or Game??

Preferably I'd rather cash, but it depends what they offer.

Let me know :)

Get game to price match cex. They will add £1 onto the trade also and you will get points if you have a loyalty card.

This or MM are the best two options. If you get game to proce match, all they need to see is a web page on your phone of what CEX offer on their website and that's it. With you having lots of games, might want to preload the several pages ready. :)

Cex are paying derisory money for PS3s now.
It's worth checking to see if selling them the pad and harddrive separately will get you more than the PS3 price. It really is that bad.

I sold my 3 year old ps3 slim with 160gb hard drive, one controller and 19 games for £150 through gumtree. It sold after 1 day and I had cash in hand. The buyer also picked up from my home. CEX buy the console for £35 lol.

I've seen the console sell for £100 or just over on its own easily. Do yourself a favour and don't get ripped off by the stores! Sell it privately yourself. PS3's are in high demand right now for xmas. I had 6 text messages enquiring about it, so there were quite a few interested. If you sell it quick you should get a decent price.

Ebay is still good for selling stuff under £50.

Therefore Gumtree for the console, stick all the games on ebay with 1 day auctions 0.99 starting price and 2.99 for second class royal mail standard delivery (then post them using 2nd class large letter, should cost you £1.10 each to post plus about 35p for a jiffy bag and then 10p for sticky tape to make sure it's secure and for printing out names and addresses.

So you make about a £1 through the postage as well as what the game sells for, because you don't pay fees on what you get for postage.

Honestly ebay is where your going to maximise how much you get for the games. Going with Game your going to get like 25% of what you would get on ebay.

You do now, they steal 10% of the postage costs also.
Also standard post is a big risk unfortunately, doesn't stop the unscrupulous claiming it never arrived & getting a refund as well as keeping the product, so I only post signed for now.
Currently going through the hassle of ppay refunds/royal mail claims due to this :(

I always ask for a receipt so I have proof of postage.

It's covered for up to £20 by Royal mail which is more than what second hand games are usually worth.

If someone decided to try and do me over like that, I stick a £20 claim in to Royal Mail, as I likely paid £30+ for the game originally.
