Hey all, You must all be getting sick of seeing these threads! ;)
But here I am with a question...

A month today i'm going to be needing a new desktop.
I've been gaming with my laptop for the past year, don't get me wrong,
it handles games really well, But it still doesn't fill the gap of a desktop :P

My old desktop is a 6 year old Alienware with worse specs than my phone..
So i'm coming to OCUK to build a new one for me :)
I'm going to have around £1000-1200, If its nice enough ill stretch to £1500 :P
But i'd like it to be Watercooled ( I don't trust myself with this :P ) and
Overclocked. Hopefully a bit future proof with an SSD.

This is what im using right now, it does the job haha!

Can anyone price me up a nice shopping list to look through?

Thanks :)

Wow, I really cant thank you enough! This actually amazing, I'm really liking option 2 to be honest!
Thanks for all your hard work ZakBlood! Really appreciate it :D

I like zakks second spec too, seems to suit you. Though I would get an xfx 550w psu. The extra power will help power the loop too and as xfx are seasonic in disguise, it means the psu's are top quality.

agree with above, but was out of stock when i looked plus a Modular one would make it more tidy with cables etc, but it's choice

1 x BeQuiet Dark Power Pro P10 550W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £119.99
1 x Seasonic G series 550w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £76.99
1 x Antec EA 550w '80 Plus Platinum' Power Supply £69.98
1 x BeQuiet Pure Power L8 530W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply - With 120mm Silent Wing Fan Built in £66.95
1 x BeQuiet Efficient Power F1 500W '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply £64.99
1 x XFX Pro 550W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £54.98

i have one of these,

1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 600W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020048-UK) £59.99
Total : £70.49 (includes shipping : £8.75).

any branded one would do, so pick one you like, the higher the rating the lower the power use over the year etc, more efficient etc

- 550W Continuous Power — Guaranteed 550W of Continuous Power from Antec
- 80 PLUS® PLATINUM certified — Up to 93% efficient, to reduce your electricity bill
- Save Energy and Money — Reduce your electricity bill by up to 25%!

Modualr PSUs are nice but I tend to find they work better on higher wattage PSUs as they tend to have more cables.

The Corsair CX 750w is a good one, a little more powerful than you need perhaps but the build quality is sublime.

let us no how you get on, and happy gaming no matter what you choose, and your more than welcome

I will, Thank you again :)

We can certainly build you up a custom spec system if you wish. Shoot an email over to myself at: [email protected] and I will be more than happy to put together a system quote for you!
