I teach foreigners, and on Friday I've said that we can have a picnic where everyone brings in a dish from their country. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

I can cook it in the morning, but there aren't any cooking facilities at my school but I do have access to a fridge.

I'd like it to be quite easy, cheap (I have 9 people that'll be trying it) and travels well.

The only thing that really sprung to mind was a trifle. We learnt the word in class, and none of them have had one before. Any other ideas?

Some good ideas here. However, I think that I'm going to go with my first choice of trifle. It travels well, I can make it tonight and it's cheap!

I might pick up a bit of Stilton as well, as it's delicious!

My jelly won't set! Argh, I need to go to bed but can't go until the jelly is in the trifle bowl but it needs to be half set first. What a pain! I've shoved it in the freezer, hopefully that'll help...
