Ok so I finally seem to have sorted out my MSN issues,
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17685108
however they did it, it now only seems to kick me out one or two evenings a week.
My speed is about 3 and a half meg on average, which is fine for me cos I dont download a heck of a lot, however, when I am downloading I get an average speed of between 10 - 30kb, it will occasionally flick up to over 100kb but not for long.
I am with pipex using their modem, is there anything I can do to get a faster download speed, its just its taking about 7 hours to download an episode of anything, sometimes longer.
Any ideas?

Torrents? If so I think turning encryption on still works on Pipex.

I am using bitcomet to download stuff, how do I turn encryption on?
What do I need to look for in my bit comet settings?

something I found in bitcomet relating to protocol encryption, it says this:-
Protocol encryption (avoid BT protocol blocked) and I have auto detect selected.
Is that right? The other options are always and disable.

Ok ta will give it a go. :D
But its gonna be stupidly slow at this time of night anyway isnt it, cos its ADSL?

So im just gonna download that and use it instead of bitcomet?
Scuse me for the blondeness but no longer have boyfriend to explain stuff to me.
Sorry!

No, load it up in bitcomet. (using the add torrent option)

It's a torrent for a linux distribution, it should download very quickly. You don't need to download it for anything, the point is it should download quickly and if it doesn't then you know something is wrong.

While we're at it I had very crap download speeds with pipex. Call up their tech support and say your having very slow speeds 24/7 and they'll talk you through a speed test. If they agree it's going slowly for unkown reasons then they'll get propper engineers involved.

Trust me ive spent god knows how much money on the phone to pipex tech support since January of this year. My speed is fine its just downloading stuff thats slow, and obviously as what I am downloading may or may not be legal they cant help me with those sort of specifics. :(
edit: When I try and download it I just get a red cross next to where I should have the green d/l arrow?
