Train Noob Question :D

On my return journey home theres a like bulletin thing that says

There are currently no Metrolink tram services across Manchester City Centre while the lines are being upgraded. A bus service is running during the normal Metrolink operating times between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly, and also between G-Mex (Deansgate) and Manchester Piccadilly. Buses run every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday 7am - 7pm, and every 20 minutes from 7pm & Sundays.

As ive only ever traveled by train once in my life, i was wondering do i have to pay for this?? or does my ticket cover it :S
