I am interested in getting a train over the Welland Viaduct, I think it goes from Melton Mowbray to Kettering.

Does anyone have any information on the status of this train or if its a steam only heritage railway that runs in the summer?

Edit: I tried googling it but could not find any information.

As it's maintained by Network Rail it's on the national network. I believe it's mainly a freight line now but there used to be a couple of services a day from St.Pancras that went over it (East Midlands Trains maybe).

Does seem to be EMR so I'd honestly just contact them as they should be able to confirm. You wouldn't be the first or last person to want to cross it as its pretty spectacular.

I did do a bit of digging and someone mentioned that the 1947 Corby to Melton train passed over it last year. There are also a couple of You Tube videos that show crossings mostly for the Melton Mowbray to / from St. Pancras via Corby service but it also seems to be used for divisions however so take it all with a gain of salt.

There is also some dated info here: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/harringworth-viaduct.122572/ with post #4 showing some services.
