Train Price Rises

Does anyone know if i buy an annual train ticket in December. Are the January price rises factored into it or will it stay at the reduced rate so effectively beating the price rise?

I don't see why nothing is done about this - it's beyond ridiculous now, well over £3,000 just to get to work on a train that has seen no improvements over the last 7 years and is overcrowded and poorly maintained.

Greater Anglia are an absolute disgrace.

when it goes up again in the January.. He'll always be 11 months behind..

Mine runs out in February.. bad timing.

Not been a bad year tbh.. Compares to previous years. We had the one bad day a few month back but other that they've been fine. Yes they are overcrowded but that not really their fault. Chelmsford is expanding at an alarming rate where people are moving from London to seek cheaper housing.. It's not just the railways, it's the whole infrastructure were half the town migrates to central London on a daily basis. I remember you could get a seat on any train at any time.. then again they were steam hauled..

Train price rises won't affect you unless you plan on buying your own private train.

If you can afford it you could buy a train before the price rise, leave it in its shrink wrap, and then sell it post price rise. But not on the MM because that's profiteering. The postage would cost an absolute fortune also.

Price increases above inflation every year, late or cancelled trains, yearly strikes and alway packed. Its about time commuters started striking and hit them where it hurts.

Yup, mine's up for renewal on xmas eve. Beat the rise by almost 12 months

. Rather annoyingly Southern have changed it so you can only buy up to 14 days in advance and the cutoff for ST loans is this week, so I just have to trust they don't sneak in a pre xmas rise.
