Train service stopped towards London

Yeah, I need to be up at uni (Goldsmiths College, New Cross) today by 4PM to hand in a dissertation. Unfortunately, the entire train network is in chaos....New Cross/Deptford/London Bridge closed.....and Ive just had a call from my sis who's on her way to work (she works at City Hall); she said the train went over the A2 and it was absolutely gridlocked.

Not looking forward to getting up there at all :S

woo, lucky you mentioned this. I was meant to go to the gym today and uni. But looks like i can't make it there! You saved me a trip to the station.... V.annoying though.

Yep, pretty nasty. Apparently an incident affecting inbound & outbound services on the Charing X line with impacts on commuter services in Cannon St, London Bridge.

I got my usual train from West Malling into Victoria and couldn't get to the Underground due to overcrowding. Lousy beatniks.

Think Im just gonna have to bite the bullet, get in the car and work my way up there. I hate sitting in traffic at the best of times though :/

Great site. My work pay for my weekly trips from Darlington to London, but if I'm delayed, I claim and get rail vouchers, which I can use for trips with the family, or for smaller business trips, which I can claim back the cost of. :D

Huge explosion in New Cross - thought to have caused £10 of damage

There's nothing quite as suicidal as crawling down the Old Kent Road - Lewisham stretch of the A2 in rush hour...

And once you pass Lewisham, your hopes rise but are soon dashed due to carefully placed "safety cameras" untill you pass Dartford where you get roadworks all the way to Gravesend.

I don't mind the speed cameras too much. There's a fair few of them towards bexleyheath but to be fair there are houses either side of the dual carriageway. There is one particularly naughty one as you turn a corner when coming back towards london - cheeky!

Ahh, the joys of motoring!

On a plus note, the new flyover they are building at the Darenth interchange looks fun....you'll be able to cruise down the hill at 70MPH, up and over a nice long sweeping curve, straight into the back of traffic queuing for the bridge tolls. What a fantastic plan :/

Hehe. Like the Bricklayers Arms roundabout flyover on the A2 from Elephant and Castle... a quick burst of speed and then it's Business As Usual :p
