Where else can I get trainer shoes other than Sketchers?

I refuse to pay another £60 for a pair of Sketchers just for them to start falling apart after 3 months of normal use

I've seen some in Next for £45 but they a bit iffy, not as good looking as Sketchers but seeing as though Sketchers seem to be made of paper and the Next items are the only other option I thought i'd ask you chaps and chapess's in case I havent thought of somewhere

Dont really want to spend more £50 seeing as though I only bought the Sketchers 3 month ago

You go on a night out in Sketchers?

Oh god here come the predictable post brigade looking for internet comedian status

That would fully depend on where you go but some of the places I visit on a night out yes, Sketchers are more than perfectly fine

Every single high street male clothes retailer that sells any kind of shoes?

That sell trainer shoes? Like Sketchers? That has already been said and as I replied they dont sell them otherwise I wouldnt have asked

WTF are trainer shoes? Can you post an example?

Sure, maybe its the term Trainer Shoes that i've just plucked out of thin air that is the problem

Edit : Actually these are a better example

I don't think I do all the eating in this thread...

Maybe just GTFO then?

Schuh, USC, John Lewis, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Rackhams.

£50 might be tight though?

The next ones are £45 so all else fails i'll just get them monies a bit tight due to short notice holiday

Schuh just sell Sketchers, I havent been in USC for a long time didnt realise they did shoes etc i'll have a look at that and I assumed Debenhams was just just Clarks etc so i'll check that out along with John Lewis but dont have either of the other two in my area, cheers

The Officers Club do them as well, I imagine they'd be pretty cheap there...

Cool I think theres one of those in the Trafford Centre i'll check it out, cheers. Loads of places to check now that I didnt think of thanks!

Skethers are horrid trainers :o

Ever looked at any skate shoes? Etnies, DC, Emerica? etc Some can be quite smart.
And imo their build quality is excellent.

I dont like that kind of thing, i'll have a look anyway because you say some can be smart but they always have big badges on them etc

IMO you look like a bit of a tool going out in skate shoes. Look too much like big slippers to be smart.

I am a tool and I dont wear skate shoes :D

Very.co.uk

Wow I like this site, theres some Sketchers on there that I really like for £50 but i'd be a bit of a moron if I buy another pair :o

You have to be careful with those as they either come in a slightly different colour (slighty deep red in places, and not in a good way). I bought them anyway because like you I was having trouble finding something I liked, then found a brown pair of Ted Baker and a grey pair of Diesel in USC, but Schuh had closed so I couldn't return them and I've never actually worn them yet... @ me

It's irritatingly difficult to find 'trainer shoes'. I'd have the Adidas Chile 62's that Lopez mentioned, but I don't like the way that the logo shouts ADIDAS!!! There's a pair of Porsche Design (lol) that are nice too, but there's just too many details on them that stand out, maybe to justify the price?

All I want is something as understated and informal as the stuff you find in Next etc, but with a bit more quality / comfort...

Apparently understated just isn't fashionable... *sigh* :(

Sounds we have/had similar requirements combined with an indesicive mind!

Magical footwear you can wear to work, a night out and don't look like shoes or trainers? wow I'm behind the times :(.

They'll tell me we have alternatives to wearing a suit on the beach next!

There is no alternative to the birthday suit!

The trick with trainer shoes is that they are comfy and are decent enough for a casual night out with jeans but you wouldnt wear them for a formal "doo" and depending on your job you can get away with wearing them with work pants and a shirt

I'm going to stop wearing them for work though, going to go back to £20 Asda shoes, I know that sounds cheap but I walk a mile a day and the last pair lasted 6 months which is 2 months longer than my £60 Sketchers!

Amazon. Sounds a lil bit silly but I've put footwear off there and at pretty good prices :)

Thanks for this, I just bought two pairs of Duck & Cover pumps for a total of £28, I think i'll just take these on holiday and treat them as disposable and get some decent trainer shoes when I get home, think i'll get some Caterpillers this time from Amazon too, they seem well priced

Girlfriend bought me a pair of Sketchers "trainer shoes" as you call them from America - $25. Saw them in London later that week for £60. :D

This is always the way, I refuse to pay for them again, even though they look good and i'm tempted to buy another pair they just dont last long enough for the cost
