Of all things sold on EBay I hear a lot about "fake clothing" and just wondered what other people's experiences were.
Basically I need some new trainers.
The problem is because I have a rather broad foot I do need to stick to Nike (I take a size 11).
I've tried nearly every make under the sun from sizes 10-12 and only the Nike come in that fit, all the others are a problem.

This greatly reduces my choice, it also greatly reduces where I can shop for them.
A quick look around via Google doesn't reveal much.
Of course there are the large catalogue stores, but I might as well go into a High Street store and get ripped off there rather than online.
A quick search of EBay reveals some quite good pricing on mainly black Nike Size 11 trainers (which I'm looking for).

Majority of sellers say "genuine guaranteed" and they have the feedback to backup such claims.
I'm assuming many of these people are probably selling Grey Imports hence the reason they are cheaper than UK pricing.
As long as I stick to people with excellent feedback scores should I be generally speaking OK making a purchase?
I'm not buying this brand because of the name.
I'm buying because I need the slightly wider fit Nike offer and because I also know that genuine Nike do tend to last quite a while too.
If I was buying for looks/brand name alone I probably wouldn't know nor be to worried if they were fake or not (obviously I'm against fake items as I am against software piracy etc).

i bought some rockport boots years ago and they were fake. Seller had very good feedback (in 1000's) and refunded all my money + postage both ways. I never left him any bad feedback because of this and i bet everyone else did the dame :(

My last and only experience with buying clothing/footwear on Ebay was bad.

Someone listed some footy boots in the section "13 and over" (I'm size 13) and took some photo's, I won the auction for about £10, I was happy!

Two days later the boots arrived and they were kid size 13  Not happy!

i have previously bought 2 pairs of trainers/basketball boots off of ebay, both from USA.

both times they were excellent products, definitely to the standard of the ones i would buy over here from a shop.

Buy some Adidas Superstars, i have broad feet and find Nike normally a problem but superstars fit perfectly, so perfect i own 3 pairs at the moment and have had over 15 pairs in my time :)

How did you not notice they were kids 13's even from the photo?

Hahaha that's awesome. I have this image in my mind of someone ripping open a parcel like it's Christmas only to have a huge grin turn to disbelief thinking the shoes have shrunk. :D

Could you? If some boots were placed on a plain black background how could I possible see how big they were?!

Yeah my GF opened them and couldn't stop laughing!

my older brother buys all of his clothes/shoes of ebay now.

Two pairs of converse arrived today with some jeans and shirts.
All new and genuine. He takes 13 feet and cant seem to get them in stores and he cant be bothered to go and shop anyway.

Thanks for all your posts people - I'll have a think.
Cheers for the advice on the Adidas - it would be nice to be able to wear a different make!

Oh and LOL at the Size 13's
I know I shouldn't laugh - but I too had the visions of the look on your face when the package was opened.

Friend bought some Prada's, looked good on the outside, under the tongue though it said made in China. Guess they are fake, as the pairs i have say made in Italy printed on the sole.

Thats hardly proof that they are fake. Just a different batch.

I bought some Nike R4 Shox the other week.

Look genuine to me, how can I tell if they are fakes?

iv bought 3 pairs off ebay

air jordan IV - fake
air jordan IV - real :)
air jordan V - real :)

just be careful really, check to see if the ones you want have been in shops recently.
