Firstly thought I'd stick this topic in here as felt it's more relevent to the knowledgable posters here
My current government department will be closing in 12-14 months time, and as a consequence of this we have all been given a bit of training money to go and do something to help us along.
Only caveat apart from the cost is it has to be taken before the end of this financial year which is a shame as the course I really want to do doesn't run until June.
Now I've got a slight dilemma on which course to choose!
It's out of either the Certified Ethical Hacker or the ISEB certificates in 'Enterprise and Solution Architecture'.
Slightly different things I know, I'm currently in an infrastructure and security role and would like to move to either a more in depth infosec/audit role or an architect type position (hate using that term, as bad as using engineer for things ).
Got a feeling that the CeH course feeds my fun side, I think it'll be something I'll enjoy doing, but am a little skeptical on on the benefits of doing this. I've got my CISSP which covers the other side of security so maybe having something a little more practical would be nice, but will it help?
And on the other side the ISEB courses would give me some good knowledge on the architect side of things to fill in the gaps and hopefully would help me along the way. Also I think this kind of thing would help most high level design roles, but guess I could be wrong.
Have got a very good deal on the above courses so they both come within budget.
Others here have gone down the Prince2 route but tbh it's not floating my boat, another one for self study if need be.
Frustrating that it's time limited, as said I'd like to go do my CISA but that's past the cut off date so will be self studying that one. But at the same time it's training, so anything will be good!
So is anyone here in either of my preferred roles, or can offer any advice as to which they would think would be good to do?
Thanks
