Training for a 1.5 miler...

For a number of months I have been training for longer distances - 5 milers during the week and over between 10-15 milers at the weekend. All this effort has paid off on the longer distance, but I did a 1.5 miler a few days ago and found that my time has slipped...

My current plan to do a 1.5 miler every other day, one day of interval and one day of constant pace... I don't know whether I can incorporate the longer distance runs into this as well...

Anyone got any suggestions?
 
don't have anything to suggest but i have also noticed that problem doing a similar training plan to yours. Like you have suggested interval training will hopefully help things.
 
Is there a specific reason you are training for long distance/short distance, or is it just for general fitness?
 
Pretty crappy to be honest, i havent done a run 1.5 miler once yet becayse ive been ill and everytime i run i have no energy after about 4 minutes and i nearly collapse :(

My test is on monday....crap :(
