Hi guys
can anyone recommend some simple computer training software for my Mum to use?
My Aunt somehow persuaded Mum to buy a laptop so she could play online Bingo. Mums skills are non existent - 6 weeks after her purchase and I still see her trying to use the Enter key as a track pad. I told her that her best bet is to find a basic computer course at the local college but she hasn't bothered to follow that up. She tells me she has managed a few games (of Bingo). should I just leave her too it? Is there any cheapish computer software I could buy for her that can show her how to do basic things like open/move folders - but without actually letting her format the laptop?

Thanks for helping

She will get the hang of it in time.

Even my dad, who is very techno blind has managed to get as far as firing up the computer and evn printing!

A few days ago he surprised me by using the ipad to skype!

That there is a testament to how easy an ipad is to use!

What I did was set up 2 user accounts so she only uses the standard user account, a little less likely she will change an important setting. Also recommend installing TeamViewer if you're not able to be next to her when she gets stuck.

My mum's training software is me... usually at the end of the telephone line. Quite often.

This. Best way to do it is to show her yourself. About a year later and my mum is able to do most of the basic things now, she even has moved the accounting work for the home business to it, loads of paper saved :p. Thing is she seems addicted to Facebook now...

Hi guys
I'd love to spend time with her, but honestly, I'm not the most patient and therefore not best suited for the task. I can only visit at weekends too and will be there later today for a few hours. I just don't know where to start... she's still struggling to log in with her online bingo....I think I'll go over there a bit earlier than planned. Thanks for helping.
