Trance is so vastly misunderstood...

This tune is by one of my favourite producers of the moment and I think this tune he released last year is my favourite of 2009 -

It's by a Russian producer called Ilya Soloviev called "Leaving Planet" ... he's also got a tune I like very much called "Universal Universe"...

Here's a link to Leaving Planet - the use of a piano melody in trance songs just sends me into a state of heaven, such a simple melody but yet so powerful.

Here's my input - I'd say my taste in trance varies a little compared to what others have posted here :-)

Then ULTIMATELY, Dash Berlin + Cerf Mitiska & Jaren - Man on the run ...just sticks in my head as I have memories of listening to this track so much last Feb/March, especially remember listening to it on a humid train heading to my interview, so its a good luck tune for me now :-)

Love Dash Berlin and the progressive sound, it's a shame it was easily copied because everyone latched onto it and kind of spoiled it for me

It's pretty sad when a genre's best days were a dozen years ago.






Tho atleast some of us were around to enjoy it at the time.

That's such a sweepingly ridiculous statement. Trance has grown and matured over the years and is the best its ever been right now...

You only have to listen to some of the radio shows on http://www.trancearoundtheworld.com/ to recognise this.
 
If you like Ashes, you should youtube "Oceanlab" - some great tunes from the vocal alias of Above and Beyond ....
 
The last (and first :p) good event I went to was Dance Valley so when I go to smaller one's here in the UK they all seem pants! Above and Beyond are one of my favourite DJ's at the moment though so I might just check it out :)
