I am taking part in the British london 10k run on July 2nd with so far zero training and having done no exercise for about a year (apart from a sub 10 minute jog last night!). Is it possible to get fit enought to run the whole 10k without stopping? I am not a natural jogger in fact I hate it, but set it as a little challenge and forgot about it until now!

So I have 5 weeks left, I can run approx 5/6 mins without stopping at the moment, can anyone help me out with some tips on how to get fit as quickly as possible? I will jog every day if necessary, but realistically will be going out on fri/sat nights..

Thanks for the advice, I was getting worried about running out of time. So I wont run everyday like I was going to now.

i did pretty much the same thing as you last year. As the others have said set targets and run every other day. You need to be able to jog happily for at least 30mins. Its a great feeling on the day, and the adrelanin will really help.

Dont forget to do some "oggy oggy oggy" chants when you run through the tunnels! :p

Yeh where did that come from? The bloody Aussies hijacked that.
