Hey guys, was just wondering if you could give me some advice.

I've been reading the OpenTTD wiki page but i cant understand what benefit making these do?

* 3-Way Junctions

* Basic 3-Way
* Round-A-Bout
* Line Merge
* Half Cloverleaf
* Modified Half Cloverleaf
* Half Spaghetti
* Ultimate 3-way junction

* 4-Way Junctions

* Basic 4-Way Junction
* Round-A-Bout
* Cloverleaf
* Double Cloverleaf
* Spaghetti
* Complex Round-A-Bout (CRAB)
* Branch-Merge Junction
* Advanced Mainline Junction
* Pre-Signaled Round-A-Bout
* Crossover-Junction
* Tetrathorp-Junction
* Over Under Junction

Isnt just connecting train 1 to station a and b easier?

Easier = yes.

Most efficient = no.

The thing with Transport Tycoon is to make money, starting with very little in the way of money.

a 4-Track station, long enough to take a full-lenght passenger or cargo train costs a fotune, as does 4 lengths of track to get to the 4 destinations. Designing your track to allow multiple trains to use the same lines a) keeps your infrastructure costs down, and b) is more efficient.

Granted, by the end of the game you will have hundreds of lines spanning every possible inch both above and below ground, but to start off with, aim for the best use of your resources as possible!

Oh, and don't bother with monorails when you get them, they suck ;)

Thanks for the reply.

So how do i start of making one? do i just choose a place central in the game map and just make one there and spread tracks out in a north, east, south and west direction or something?
