I've devoted my music collection to Itunes and now I'm thinking of building up my collection on WMP 11 because I cant make my mind up on whether I want a new Ipod or a creative zen vision. Can I somehow transfer all of my music from itunes (off CDs) to WMP ?

Thanks

pretty sure you can just get media player to search for all the media on your pc, it also finds all the stuff in itunes, hope this helps

for mine it wont pick up the mpeg4 type of files. also I tried to open just one file from itunes folder any WMP wouldn't open it because it wouldn't support the file type and it said it might not have the right codec

Will depend on what format the files you ripped in itunes are. I'm pretty sure that itunes defaults ripping files from cds in the AAC format with the .m4a extension which wmp11 doesn't support out of box as far as I know.

I believe you can make it support .m4a files by installing something like ffdshow, but i'm not and haven't tried it myself as I don't use wmp 11.

I've heard of musicbridge for syncing your itunes and wmp libaries, but haven't used it myself:

I can't try wmp11 on my pc as it won't install. But it definitely sounds like your files aren't in a format wmp 11 supports, in which case you'll need to either:

a) convert them
b) make wmp 11 support them:

quick google brought that up for getting mp4 support in wmp11. You might get more luck asking at hydrogenaudio as they know a lot about music codecs.
