Transfer Funds to UK PSN Account

I can't seem to transfer funds to a UK PSN account from where I live (Malta). I know people who bought stuff from PSN, but I am not 100% sure if they used credit cards or pre-paid PSN cards.

I tried using my Visa, my parents Visa, and also PayPal (through the web app) but it declines them all.

Is it because its a Maltese card with a UK account?

I just need £3, so its useless to buy a £20 PSN card.

If the card isnt from the same region as the PSN account, Im pretty sure you cant use it.

I know when people were buying off US PSN you had to organise a card that let you get around that (cant remember the specifics) but I know Sony put a stop to that so now you can only buy PSN cards if you want to fund an account that isnt in the region you are in...

Im sure youll find something for the other £17 eventually
