Transfer music from an iPod to iTunes

Riteo,

Brother in law has a MBP he's just got hold of, as his old windows laptop got stolen.

He has a load of music on an iPod that he wants to get off it and get it onto the MBP.

iTunes helpfully says that the iPod is synced with another library, and continuing the sync will result in erasing its contents !

There must be a piece of software out there that can help us? google doesn't seem to offer a solution

There are a number of tools to do this easily. Can't remember any of them off the top of my head but some googling will find you many many answers and solutions.

Phone to Mac seems to offer exactly what we want, as do many other applications, but they are all buy to use, we only need to do this as a one off so I'm loathed to suggest paying 20 quid for something !

Quick update... used FreeSync (and it was free!) and it did the job splendidly !

Good you got it sorted. I have used Copypod in the past and it works well, albeit it's a paid for solution.
