Hi,

I built my current PC 5 yrs ago and got it booting from an early M.2 ACHI card. I cant remember what I did but had lots of issues creating a GPT boot partition to run under UEFI. I don't understand a lot of this stuff and was following some instructions.

I'm now doing a rebuild and want to transfer a full image, including Windows 10 (I have a retail version but lost the licence key in a clear out) if this is possible to a new M.2 NVMe.

The M.2 AHCI is an SM951, 256GB, and the new one is 500GB.

The new board is an ASUS TUF X570 which is also UEFI BIOS.

Is it possible to do this, if so could anyone outline what the process is - I can dig into the detail myself just could do with some help on where to start.

Thanks

Great, thanks, that's more straight forward. I think the problem I had last time was having to convert an MBR boot partition to GPT.

EDIT. I think I can just use a Macrium Rescue USB to boot the new PC and then use that to install the Image on the NVMe M2. I have some spare HDD's so can put the image on one of those and put it in the new PC.
