A friend currently has a UK PS3 and has some save games, downloaded content and his PSN setting and details on it. Now he has just bought a US PS3 and i am buying his UK PS3 from him but he wants to transfer his stuff from his current (UK) PS3 to his new one (US) how can you do that? Could he just swap the HDD Over? or is there a way to clone the drive? Then the PS3 that i would be buying will be totally formatted so i can get online etc...

Help.. :)

All his network settings, PSN ID's etc are stored on internal flash on the PS3 so swapping drives wont matter. The games he has purchased or anything else for that of the PSN store can be reloaded from the my downloads bit on the PSN store. You can just transfer the save games using a USB drive. If you have a USB HDD (formatted to FAT32) you can do a system backup onto and restore it to his new one. This does not back up any purchased content and also i dont think it backs up the settings and stuff, but not 100% sure.
