Transfering Files XP ---> Vista

I have saved My Documents (Music,Photo's) etc from my Windows XP PC onto a 350gb external HDD.

Is there an easy way of dumping the My Documents folder onto the user folder on Vista so it drops the various files into each of the sub folders, like you would on XP?

open my pics, copy to photos
open my music, copy to music
open my docs, copy to documents

i can't see any problem with the above!

Why would My Music containing 13Gb of music, when pasted to Vista contain 28Mb of data?

open the 'my music' folder, check the data is there, select all, copy

paste!
