Transferring a registration.

In the past i have always done this by post, i was wondering if i go to the DVLA office, can they do it all there and then while i wait?

You will still have to wait for the documentation to come through the post, and won't be able to put your new registration on until you recieve it

The only benefit in visting the office is that one you get the paperwork through to say the plate has been removed from the existing vehicle, you can have it assigned to the new one that same day.

Sorry iv had a few drinks now, explain that again for the stupid

So can i put the plate on the car the same day i take the V750 down to the DVLA office?

Yes you can. I've done it that way on 3 occasions now

Ahh excellent, i took your advice and bought a plate for my old Jag off the DVLA web site (which iv never done before). I hadnt looked at that site till we were arguing about plate prices before, iv always gone to auctions to get them before.

Anyway so when they send me the V750 i can take that straight to a DVLA office, then put it on the car the same day?

You can, yes. You'll need to take your tax disc with you, and get some plates made up as well (You can do this with the V750).

Good man, thanks for that.

I'l go in another car and put them on at home i think, i probably get arrested for changing plates in the street outside knowing my luck.
