Hello all,

I've got a problem transferring contacts from a Galaxy Ace to an S3, which means standard sim to micro sim. I'm moving networks so the network supplied backup service can't be used.

I cannot use google to sync contacts because there is an error logging into the google account on the phone. I can't get into the play store to download the fix for this because it won't log in, same story for web based page rather than app.

In gmail I cannot sync contacts because for some reason the 'contacts' menu button is not visible on the mobile version of the page, and changing to desktop version takes me, for some bl**dy inexplicable reason, to the sign in page for virgin media!?!

Is there any other way than pen and paper? I have hundreds of numbers I must keep.

Thanks for any help.

In the contacts app, is there an option to export contacts? It should export them to a vCard file which you can then transfer to your new phone, and then import it with the S3's contact app.

Export them to a vCard into internal storage, then Bluetooth the file across to your new phone and import it.
Or if you have a microSD card installed on the phone, copy it to there, then just swap the microSD card to the new phone.
