Transferring data between two computers.

Did a quick google and it seems more hassle than I'd hoped :eek:. Basically I have some 720p .mkv files on my main rig and want to transfer them to a htpc. Are there any easier options?

I have a Linksys router, so I just hook them both up to it via ethernet cables?

PS. When I said "more hassle than I'd hoped" I was referring to making an ethernet crossover cable.
