Ok, so the screen is cracked and totally non functional on my old Galaxy S2 and I just picked up an HTC Desire 620.

I'd like to recover/transfer the stuff from my old phone - especially the contacts, but the software I've tried (Android transfer/Android Data recovery) all require access to the S2 in order to do the USB debugging thing, which I obviously can't do, since the screen doesn't work.
The same applies to doing a bluetooth transfer.

I never backed up to googledrive or anything, unfortunately...

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I didn't sync it and the bloody thing saved only the most useless of contacts to the sim and put the rest on the handset...

Yeah, the screen only has a relatively minor crack compared to some of the shattered, but still working phones I've seen, but it's just completely black :(

The only thing I can think of is to boot to fastboot mode, flash a non-touch based custom recovery like CWM onto the phone, and then find a guide to see what buttons to press in what order to mount the storage, so you can access it with your PC. This will allow you to access your files.

Contacts on the other hand will be far more trickier...

I wouldn't have a clue where to start with all that tbh :o

It's really just the contacts that are the issue. I can access pics/vids etc via the PC.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I'd tried the first two things you linked.
However, Kies worked! Was able to use that and save contacts as VCF files, place them on the new phone and then import.

Thanks a lot mate :)

Glad that worked :). I would highly advise importing it to your Google account via the Google link I posted above, that way it will be backed up and synced with any device connected to your Google account.
