Transferring MacBook Air to new owner

I've sold a MacBook Air and have unauthorized my accounts, formatted the drive and started the process to reinstall the OS

Its now asking for an Apple ID; do I need to put my details in to reinstall the OS or should I leave at this stage for the new owner to enter their details?

Leave that stage for the new owner. It's reset fine by the sounds of it.

Log into icloud.com and double check it's not associated with your Apple ID for FindmyMac purposes, other than that I think you're good to go.

Sounds good then as the only devices showing are my phone and MBP

And as a bonus, you don't need to do anything about the warranty, it's with the device, not the owner.
