Transferring Messages from Live Mail to Outlook 365 - How ?

Here is the scenario.

Just bought my daughter a new laptop

Old Computer - Windows 7, Windows Live Mail

New Computer - Windows 8.1, Outlook 365

So how do I move the messages from the Old Computer to the New Computer ?

You would think this would be really simply - Microsoft throughout, they must have catered for this, right?

I was almost there but missed the vital step of having live mail on the new PC.

A further question though.

I exported from WLM to hard disk without issue. I then copied to USB Stick and this threw up warning that 100s of messages have properties that cannot be copied. It was only a warning and you can continue which I did.

My question though, what are these properties and what is the consequence of losing them?

I did try exporting directly to USB or NAS but this does not work. It completes very quickly but nothing is actually exported. Only seems to work to local HDD.
