Transferring music to iphone

Having an odd problem with transferring music to my new iphone using itunes (PC).

Basically with my ipod classic and touch all i need to do is literally drag music from itunes and onto the ipods, but if i try this with the iphone it doesn't work. Instead i need to create playlists and then transfer those playlists to the iphone which is a tedious way of doing it.

Wondering if anyone knows why i'm having to do this, and a way round it if possible ?
 
Strange, you sure your dragging it to the right section of your iPhone in iTunes?

Problem solved

edit - For some reason it didn't like my ipod and iphone being used on same computer. So synced the ipod to a different computer and it worked.
